![]() After talking with a lot of our users, we saw a need for a simpler interface for people who just want a simple start/stop interface to timelapses. We got a lot of great feedback from our beta testing of the holy grail features in the last release. (see one of our debugging visualizations here: ) It's almost ready, but we didn't want to delay the release anymore, so we have to move it to the next release.Ī highlight protection feature is also in the works for Timelapses, but needs a bit more work also before it goes out the door,ĭetails on New/Upgraded Features: New Timelapse UI We've been building a system that automatically identifies natural flicker and ignores it when calculating smoothing. The old post smoothing algorithm would take these sources of natural flicker into account when smoothing, which would cause certain scenes to have some flicker in the sky and foreground. You want to smooth the rest of the scene, but not include the natural flicker in the smoothing calculations. We've been building a system to better deal with "natural flicker." The main place you see natural flicker is cars moving through a scene on a regular basis, or ocean waves. The last component of Arsenal's timelapse system is the "post smoothing" that does a final round of smoothing to smooth out the 1/3rd stop jumps when settings are adjusted. We've got a few things we were hoping to get in this release, but rather than delay the release any further, we decided to roll it out and we'll do a follow up release shortly.įuji XT2 handheld mode isn't ready yet (sorry, should be in the next release) ![]() We've also fixed one case where Arsenal would get into a state where it couldn't be connected to after a dropped connection this should help those of you that sometimes get 'stuck' on a connecting screen. ![]() Lots of bug fixes, performance improvements, UI improvements, etc.A few big fixes in this release, including handling of available aperture's changing when zooming lenses. Sony Wifi Camera Focus Stacking: Now you can focus stack on your Sony Wifi camera! This one is a long time coming and we're really excited about it. Reworked Smart Mode Solver: Better at handling edge cases, also more testable on our end Improved AutoExposure Model: Not just better timelapses, but better exposed, smoother timelapses (LNR doubles the shutter time and can result in missing timelapse intervals) Long Exposure Noise Reduction warning: Arsenal now notifies you if LNR is enabled. Slider Mode: Allow your timelapse slider (or similar devices) to trigger the camera while Arsenal manages settings. Shorten shutter to keep interval (for timelapses): Control if Arsenal should shorten the shutter to maintain interval when light is limited. Keep Mirror Up Between Shots (for timelapses): Allows you to control the trade off on DSLR's between battery life and aperture change flicker. Timelapse Pre-exposure: Before a timelapse, Arsenal quickly calculates the correct exposure so there is no jump in exposure in the first few frames of the timelapse. Share Timelapse: You can now share timelapses from the gallery (yah!)Īuto Holy Grail Timelapses: Managed settings, while allowing custom interval and number of shots You set up your gear, compose your shot, and let Arsenal do the rest with one simple tap on your phone. SmartLapse: A new, simple managed timelapse workflow. New Cameras Supported: Canon EOS R, Canon EOS RP, Nikon Z6, Nikon Z7, Nikon D3500, Fuji XT2, Sony A6400 We received a lot of great feedback from users of the seven new cameras for which we added support.īefore we jump into all of the details, a high-level summary of what's included in this release: This release includes a ton of bug fixes, performance improvements, and all of the new features we started rolling out in the 0.9.62 BETA. This release is the progression from v0.9.50 for most of our users, and v0.9.62 for our BETA testers (thanks again BETA team!).
